ITS TIME TO RUN AWAY AND JOIN THE CIRCUS!
On the 9th August 2009, Wallsend will celebrate the Wallsend Winter Carnivale.
Over 30,000 people are expected to attend and enjoy the fun, family friendly atmosphere of Wallsend Town joining friends and family to enjoy Wallsend’s premier event.
Local businesses will opened their doors and spill out into the street to create colourful market style displays. Mixed in with local businesses will be a group of quality market stalls offering arts, craft and fine foods as well as kid’s entertainment with face painting, jumping castle, bungee jumping, and rock climbing.
Attendees will be entertained all day by local dance clubs, local bands, community demonstrations and the big bands in the Rotunda.
The big trapeze will be erected with death defying aerial acts, juggling and clowning around being the main event on the day!
The Wallsend Town Committee recently won the Australia Day – Community Event of the Year which is a testimony to this Carnival’s success!

This year the Committee and the Wallsend Baptist Church has focused on establishing a place for the Youth of Wallsend to enjoy the Carnivale this year we have the following great activities.
Game of Skate - .. kindly supported by Newcastle Skate Shop – celebrity guest judge is Sam Giles – registration from 9am with competition commending at 11am.
BMX Free-style Demonstration featuring champion riders.
Girl Power tent for the ladies to hang with Free Makeovers to a few lucky girls and demonstration on makeup..
Aerosol Art - come and watch a local team of young people do their 'thing' and create a great Wallsend Youth Precinct Logo !

Wallsend Baptist Church is thrilled to be part of the Wallsend Winter Carnivale to be held on Sunday 9 August 2009.
Much has been organised for this year’s carnvivale:
Ken Duncan Photographic Display – Ken Duncan and his work is widely known and we are pleased he is partnering with us.
Keith Davey Photographic Display – Keith is a local Photographer – an environmental educator and author, a wildlife, nature and landscape photographer, natural history illustrator, graphic designer and a website developer. With his wife Pat, they travel around Australia to take lots of photographs and create environmental education resources.

Model Trains by Our Town Model Railway Club.
Outside we will have some exciting displays of cars – The MG Car Club – The Falcon GT Club and some Italian Cars. While you look at the various cars you will be entertained by The Preservation Jazz Band.
Inside the downstairs hall we are pleased to have Maryland Public School and Plattsburgh Public School bringing musical presentations in the morning.
